CAP-CP Informative Reference Published
CAPAN is pleased to announce the publishing of a comprehensive Informative Reference resource for the Canadian Profile of the Common Alerting Protocol (CAP-CP).
This new resource leverages use cases and CAP-CP examples to support developers in their development of CAP-CP complaint applications. CAP-CP system developers are encouraged to review this guide in advance of implementing CAP-CP.
The development of the Informative Reference was supported by the Centre for Security Science, Environment Canada, Healix Computing and CAPAN.

Generalized SGC Boundary Files

Generalized SGC Boundary Files published
With financial support from the Canadian Centre for Security Science, CAPAN has worked with Statistics Canada to develop a generalized version of the geospatial boundary files for the Standard Geographical Classification (SGC): Province, Census Division, Census Sub-Division. This investment follows consultation with early implementers of geospatial systems and the Canadian Profile of the Common Alerting Protocol (CAP-CP), who identified processing challenges with the SGC boundary files. Essentially, the SGC boundary files were too accurate for the processing and presentation requirements. Ex. Boundary files that once exceeded 8,000 points may now have as few as 150 points. Users of these files are encouraged to advise CAPAN of any issues found with them.
